From shop-floor experience to a benchmark in smart factory management
The Founding
Three Brazilian engineers — Reginaldo Junior, Ricardo Borgatti, and Cândido Ouro Preto — founded Cogtive from hands-on experience on the shop floor, where they saw firsthand the production bottlenecks and the difficulty industries faced in accessing clear information about their own operations.
First Steps
In Anápolis (GO), the team built the first version of the platform: plug-and-play, able to integrate with any factory environment and deliver real-time analysis. The first modules, focused on OEE and bottleneck visibility, were tested with partner companies.
Structuring and Growth
The commercial phase begins. Cogtive starts serving pharmaceutical, animal health, cosmetics, food, and automotive industries — with case studies like Apsen Farmacêutica and Ourofino. Headquarters move to Cubo Itaú in São Paulo, and TÆLOR, Cogtive's in-house AI, is born.
Consolidation
Revenue of ~R$2.5 million in 2021, doubling in 2022. Client factories had already saved more than R$1.5 billion in waste and lost capacity.
International Recognition
Victory at the LTNtech Pitch, hosted by the 1871 accelerator in Chicago, beating out dozens of Latin American startups — paving the way for a U.S. operation and international contracts, including a pharmaceutical company in the Middle East.
Expansion and Investment
R$10 million investment from Indicator Capital, an IoT-focused fund, to accelerate new platform modules and scale operations in Brazil and abroad.
